Why Book a Couples Session?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that couples photography is only for engagements.

The truth is, you don't need a special occasion to celebrate your relationship.

Whether you've been together for six months or twenty years, these photographs become a reminder of who you are together right now.

Many couples book a session to celebrate an anniversary, announce exciting news, update family photos, or simply because they don't have many photographs together.

What to Expect

If you've never had professional photos taken before, you're definitely not alone. Almost every couple tells me they're nervous about being in front of the camera. The good news? You don't need any experience.

My sessions are relaxed, easy-going and filled with movement, conversation and genuine moments. Rather than asking you to stand still and smile at the camera, I'll gently guide you with simple prompts that help you interact naturally.

By the end of the session, most couples tell me they forgot the camera was even there..

Choosing the Perfect Location

Dunedin and the surrounding Otago region offer so many beautiful locations for couples photography.

Whether you love rugged coastlines, forests, rolling hills, colourful gardens or a cosy in-home session, I'm happy to help choose a location that suits your personalities and the feeling you're hoping to create.

  • Most sessions last around one hour, giving us plenty of time to explore, relax and create a variety of beautiful photographs without feeling rushed.

  • If the weather isn't suitable, we can choose an alternative location or reschedule if needed. A little rain is absolutely fine if you don't mind getting a little wet—it can create beautifully moody and romantic photographs.

    In my opinion, some of the most beautiful sessions happen on cloudy days, so we won't cancel just because the forecast isn't perfect.
