Josh & Brennen intimate backyard wedding in auckland
This will always be one of my favourite weddings I’ve ever had the chance to photograph. It was a warm, beautiful day in Auckland and the whole day felt incredibly special from the very beginning. They got married in their backyard which was so beautifully decorated and put together.
Brennen got ready at a lovely Airbnb surrounded by her mum, sister and brother. She did her own makeup while her mum and sister helped with her hair and getting her dressed. I loved watching those sweet moments between them as the morning slowly unfolded.
When I photograph the getting-ready part of the day, I like to stay in the background as much as possible, almost like a fly on the wall. It’s such a calm moment where everyone is slowly starting to feel the excitement of what’s about to happen.
The whole day was filled with emotion, and so much genuine love. It’s one I won’t forget anytime soon.
