Aimee & Carlson – An Intimate Alexandra Wedding

There’s something really special about weddings at home. They just hit differently. Aimee and Carlson’s day in Alexandra, Central Otago was beautiful day full of love.

The morning started at their home in Alexandra. It felt calm and cosy from the second I walked in. Aimee got ready surrounded by her closest friends and family, and her sweet little daughter quietly sat on her lap while her hair was being done. It was one of those simple, tender moments that says everything about what the day is really about. As a photographer and videographer, these are the details I’m always watching for, the little moments that tell a full story.

Once everyone was dressed, we moved into their first look. I love first looks. They give couples a chance to slow down together before the ceremony begins. Carlson’s reaction said it all. It was genuine, emotional, and such a beautiful moment to document.

The ceremony took place right at their home, surrounded by the Central Otago landscape and their closest people. There’s something incredibly meaningful about getting married in a space that already holds so many memories.

Days like this are exactly why I love what I do. Intimate weddings allow space for real connection, and that’s where the best imagery comes from.

Aimee and Carlson, thank you for trusting me to capture something so personal and meaningful. It truly was an honour.
